About us

The honest version.

Import QC is not a venture-funded platform, not a subsidiary of a testing conglomerate, and not a faceless agency with a rotating cast of account managers. It's a deliberately small company built on a very large asset — and it started with a frustration.

A decade inside the inspection industry

Our founder has spent ten years in quality control in China — including years inside SGS, the largest inspection company on earth, where he worked his way up from order manager to account manager to market development manager. From that seat he ran the whole machine: how inspections get sold, dispatched, reported — and priced. That's where the method comes from: the AQL discipline, the structured checklists, the report formats, the instinct for which corner of a warehouse the factory would rather you didn't photograph.

It's also where the frustration comes from. Year after year, he watched the same thing happen: a small importer from Ohio or Rotterdam or Melbourne — someone wiring $15,000 of their own money to a supplier they'd never met — would ask for a single inspection. And the giants would quote them a corporate price, route them through three sales emails, and deliver a report that read like it was written for a procurement department, not a person.

The inspection itself was often excellent. Everything around it — the price, the friction, the tone — was built for companies a hundred times their size.

The unfair advantage, disclosed

Here's the part most companies would dress up in corporate language, so we'll just say it plainly: Import QC is married into one of China's largest QC organizations.

Our fulfillment partner employs more than 1,000 full-time inspectors across every manufacturing province. Our founder's wife has worked there longer than anyone — and she personally routes every Import QC order to the right category-specialist inspector, in the right city, at the internal rate that makes our $149 flat price possible.

What that means for you: the reach and reliability of a thousand-inspector network, with the pricing of a company that has no sales department, no regional offices and no marketing budget to bake into your invoice. When you message us, you talk to the founder. When your order is dispatched, it goes through someone with a decade of seniority inside the network.

Small on the outside. Enormous where it counts.

What we believe

Show the price

If a company won't publish its price, it's pricing you, not the service. Ours is on the homepage.

Small importers deserve the big method

A $10,000 first order deserves the same AQL rigor as a million-dollar contract. Maybe more — there's less margin for error.

The report is the product

Not the brand, not the app, not the account manager. You pay for one thing: the truth about your goods, in writing, with photos, in time to act on it.

A note on being small

We take a limited number of orders per week and we're not trying to become the next QIMA. When volume grows, it grows through repeat customers and referrals — which means the report quality is the entire business model. If we ever send you a lazy inspection, we haven't just lost a customer; we've broken the only engine we have. We behave accordingly.
